Employment & Labor Lawyer
Christopher H. Marine, Jason L. Odom, Sandra G. Rennick
Attorney members of the Business & Commercial Enterprise Group ("BCEG") counsel clients on all aspects of Employment and Labor Law. BCEG employment lawyers endeavor to establish preventative employment policy mechanisms and systems for business clients. Legal counsel and advice is available to both employers and employees in the preparation of employment agreements, including retention or release of business principals following a sale or merger, independent contractor agreements, non-competition agreements that include restrictions on use of confidential or trade secret information, and non-solicitation of customers and employees. Legal counsel and advice is geared toward helping clients achieve their operational and human resource goals, while reducing the potential for disputes and lawsuits. BCEG employment lawyers design policies and procedures that reduce the risk of claims and advise clients on discrimination, harassment, and retaliation laws, wage/hour laws, Family and Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, and whistleblower laws. Defensive strategies are used to evaluate employment law exposure through review and analysis of existing employee policies and procedures and management level employee training. In instances where an employment claim has been filed in court, BCEG lawyers have significant civil trial experience defending clients against such claims. Our lawyers represent clients in all stages of litigation from the filing of a lawsuit, to trial, and if necessary, on appeal.
